1. A stabilization system for stabilizing a bone, the system comprising:
a bone plate, the bone plate comprising an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and a distal end, the bone plate comprising a plurality of through holes extending through the elongated portion; and
a plurality of fasteners configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and configured to secure the bone plate to the bone,
wherein the proximal end of the elongate portion has an arcuate configuration,
wherein the arcuate configuration includes a curvature of the proximal end towards the distal end to a position above a transverse axis of the bone plate that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis such that the proximal end does not intersect the transverse axis,
wherein a side relief cut is disposed between each of the plurality of through holes, and wherein a middle portion of the elongated portion is disposed in a middle of the bone plate and in between two consecutive side relief cuts along the longitudinal axis, wherein the middle portion contains a pair of k-wire holes adjacent to an elongated slot.
