an elongated shaft extending from a proximal end towards a distal end;
a surgical bur at the distal end of the elongated shaft, the surgical bur including:
a first flute;
a first cutting edge; and
a first trailing edge,
wherein the first cutting edge is configured to cut tissue and spaced a first distance from a center axis of the surgical bur,
wherein the first trailing edge is spaced the first distance from the center axis of the surgical bur, and
wherein the surgical bur is configured to dissect tissue in a radial direction relative to the center axis,
wherein the first flute includes a convex land defined between the first cutting edge and the first trailing edge, the entire length of the convex land being disposed at a varying distance from the center axis, the varying distance being less than the first distance.
