1. A method for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE), comprising:
receiving a configuration associated with mapping communication resources allocated for a sidelink control channel and a sidelink data channel to corresponding physical communication resources;
mapping, based at least in part on the configuration, first communication resources allocated to the first UE for a symbol of each portion of sidelink control information to second communication resources for a time period, the mapping comprising:
mapping, for the time period, consecutive symbols of a first stage sidelink control information to at least partially different first frequency ranges of a sub-channel; and
mapping, for the time period, consecutive symbols of a second stage sidelink control information to at least partially different second frequency ranges of the sub-channel and interlaced with respective first frequency ranges of the at least partially different first frequency ranges of the sub-channel; and
communicating with a second UE using the second communication resources.
