1. A wireless communication device in a wireless communication network, comprising:
a transceiver;
a memory; and
a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory, wherein the processor and the memory are configured to:
transmit a first sidelink-positioning reference signal (SL-PRS) resource reservation message within resources in a SL communication resource pool, wherein the first SL-PRS resource reservation message identifies a first SL-PRS resource within a SL-PRS resource pool, and the SL communication resource pool is different from the SL-PRS resource pool; and
transmit a first SL-PRS in the first SL-PRS resource within the SL-PRS resource pool.
