1. A head-mounted display comprising:
a display area;
a photodetector;
a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) configured to emit a first plurality of infrared spectrum illuminations, the first plurality of infrared spectrum illuminations identifying the head-mounted display from a plurality of head-mounted displays;
an optical bandpass filter configured to filter a second plurality of infrared spectrum illuminations from an optical emission device according to a predetermined wavelength such that a filtered infrared spectrum illumination is absorbed by the photodetector, the optical emission device emitting the second plurality of infrared spectrum illuminations responsive to an identification of the head-mounted display using the first plurality of infrared spectrum illuminations emitted from the plurality of LEDs; and
a projector configured to project an image onto the display area, the image being stored in the filtered infrared spectrum illumination.
