1. A computer-implemented method for monitoring the display of electronic content on client devices, the method including:
receiving, by a server processor, a request for digital content from a first user device;
transmitting, by the server processor, the digital content to the first user device, the digital content including a first electronic content;
receiving, at the server processor, indication from the first user device that the first electronic content has been presented on a display of one of the first user device and a second user device;
based on receiving the indication that the first electronic content has been presented on a display of at least one of the first user device and the second user device, determining, by the server processor, a number of user devices that have presented the first electronic content on each of their respective displays, the number of user devices including at least one of the first user device and the second user device; and
transmitting, by the server processor, the determined number of user devices that have presented the first electronic content to a receiving entity associated with the first electronic content.
