1. An isolated polypeptide comprising a Haloacid dehalogenase (HAD)-like hydrolase domain and having bifunctional terpene synthase activity comprising
a) an amino acid sequence having at least 90%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98% or 99% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 5, wherein the amino acid sequence is a variant of SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 5 and does not have 100% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 1 or SEQ ID NO: 5;
b) a sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 53, SEQ ID NO: 54, or SEQ ID NO: 55; and
c) a sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 56, SEQ ID NO: 57, or SEQ ID NO: 58.
