1. A process for preparing solid tri(C1-C4 alkyl) ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, the process comprising:
a. combining a C1-C5 alkanol with aqueous phosphoric acid to provide a solution;
b. adding a tri(C1-C4 alkyl)amine to the solution, thereby providing a reaction mixture, while maintaining the temperature of the reaction mixture below its boiling point and while agitating the reaction mixture;
c. adding an aprotic solvent to the reaction mixture; and
d. isolating of the resulting tri(C1-C4 alkyl)ammonium dihydrogen phosphate as a solid.
