one or more hardware processors; and
a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
transmitting, from a first electronic device of a plurality of the first electronic devices anchored along a transportation pathway, a first wireless signal, the first wireless signal identifying a location of the first electronic device along the transportation pathway, wherein a second electronic device attached to a vehicle traveling along the transportation pathway determines a location of the vehicle along the transportation pathway according to the first wireless signal;
receiving, by any one of the plurality of the first electronic devices, a second wireless signal transmitted by the second electronic device, wherein the second wireless signal identifies the location of the vehicle along the transportation pathway; and
transmitting, from the any one of the plurality of the first electronic devices, a third wireless signal, wherein the third wireless signal identifies the location of the vehicle along the transportation pathway, wherein other ones of the first electronic devices wirelessly relay the third wireless signals along the transportation pathway.
