1. An image decoding method, comprising:
determining an intra prediction mode of a current block;
generating a prediction block of the current block based on the intra prediction mode; and
reconstructing the current block based on the prediction block,
wherein the determining the intra prediction mode of the current block comprises
deriving a ratio of a width and a height of the current block;
determining whether the width is not equal to the height; and
when the width is not equal to the height and the intra prediction mode of the current block is within an intra prediction mode range determined based on the ratio, modifying the intra prediction mode of the current block into an intra prediction mode applicable to the current block based on the ratio,
wherein the modified intra prediction mode is used to generate the prediction block,
wherein, when the height is longer than the width, a quantity of horizontal directional intra prediction modes applicable to the current block is greater than a quantity of vertical directional intra prediction modes applicable to the current block,
wherein, when the height is at least two times longer than the width, the quantity of horizontal directional intra predication modes is at least two times larger than the quantity of vertical directional intra prediction modes, and
wherein the intra prediction mode range in a horizontal direction increases as the ratio increases.
