1. A modular power system, comprising:
a inverter subsystem that includes:
a direct current (DC) bus that has a variable voltage;
a DC terminal, wherein:
the DC terminal connects to the DC bus via an internally-facing side of the DC terminal and connects to a load via an externally-facing side of the DC terminal; and
the load is powered via the DC terminal; and
a power storage interface that connects to one or more power storage modules:
the one or more power storage modules, wherein the inverter subsystem is able to manage a configurable number of the one or more power storage modules; and
a case that encloses at least the inverter subsystem and exposes the externally-facing side of the DC terminal.
