               1. A method for managing a plurality of energy storage devices, comprising:
            transferring, by using a plurality of power converters operating independently, power from the plurality of energy storage devices to a load such that the plurality of energy storage devices reach a plurality of predetermined charge states, respectively, at a common discharging end time,
                wherein each of the plurality of power converters comprises first terminals and second terminals;
                wherein the plurality of power converters are connected one-to-one with the plurality of energy storage devices via the first terminals;
                wherein the second terminals of the plurality of power converters are connected in series to the load; and
                wherein the transferring comprises, for each energy storage device of the plurality of energy storage devices:
              determining a battery charge fraction associated with the energy storage device; and
                  independently maintaining, during the transferring, a voltage conversion ratio of a corresponding power converter, of the plurality of power converters, to be proportional to a reciprocal of the battery charge fraction for the energy storage device.
