1. A radio frequency module comprising:
a radio frequency component;
a multi-layer substrate including a ground plane, a signal routing layer positioned between the radio frequency component and the ground plane, [and] an insulating layer positioned between the signal routing layer and the ground plane, additional signal routing layers positioned between the signal routing layer and the radio frequency component, and additional insulating layers positioned between the signal routing layer and the radio frequency component; and
an antenna on a side of the multi-layer substrate that is opposite to the radio frequency component.
