1. A refuse collection vehicle, comprising:
a chassis supporting a plurality of vehicle components and comprising:
a Controller Area Network (CAN) vehicle bus configured to transmit data according to a first J1939 transmission protocol in which each of the vehicle components is assigned a Parameter Group Number (PGN)/Suspect Parameter Number (SPN) combination in the CAN vehicle bus; and
a data port communicatively coupled with the vehicle bus and configured to receive data according to the first J1939 transmission protocol;
a refuse service body physically coupled to the chassis, the refuse service body comprising a sensor outputting body data, a service body bus having a second transmission protocol, and a grabber arm;
a controller communicatively coupled to the vehicle bus and the service body bus, the controller configured to:
receive, from the service body bus via the second transmission protocol, body data collected by the sensor;
process the received body data;
transmit processed body data to the data port through the CAN vehicle bus via the first J1939 transmission protocol, with the processed body data assigned a PGN/SPN combination unassigned to the vehicle components;
receive, from the vehicle bus via the first J1939 transmission protocol, vehicle data corresponding to operation of one or more vehicle components;
process the vehicle data; and
regulate operation of the grabber arm of the refuse collection vehicle based on the processed vehicle data; and
a transmitter configured to receive vehicle data and the processed body data over the CAN vehicle bus and transmit the vehicle data and the processed body data over a wireless network to a remote computing device.
