1. An electronic gaming machine (“EGM”) comprising:
a processor circuit; and
a memory coupled to the processor circuit, the memory comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor circuit, cause the EGM to perform operations comprising:
determining that a user has earned a comp based on a first signal received by the processing circuit;
responsive to the comp being earned by the user and prior to the comp being used, increasing a digital version of a progressive award based on the comp; and
outputting an indicator of the progressive award by the processing circuit transmitting a second signal.
