18. An image processing method comprising:
acquiring a plurality of endoscopic images obtained by picking up images of an observation target at times different from each other;
discriminating, for each endoscopic image, whether the endoscopic image is suitable or unsuitable for calculation of a raw score;
calculating the raw score related to a determination of a severity or a stage of a disease of the observation target, on the basis of each of the endoscopic images;
define the raw score to be uncalculated for the endoscopic image discriminated to be unsuitable for the calculation of the raw score;
deciding a final score on the basis of the raw score that is calculated on the basis of a plurality of the endoscopic images acquired in a predetermined period before a point in time at which the final score is decided, and defining the final score to be uncalculated in a case where the number of the raw scores except for the raw score to be uncalculated is a predetermined number or less, a case where the number of the raw scores to be uncalculated is a predetermined number or more, or a case where a ratio of the number of the raw scores to be uncalculated to the number of the raw scores based on the plurality of endoscopic images acquired in the predetermined period is a predetermined value or more, the raw scores being based on the plurality of endoscopic images acquired in the predetermined period; and
performing control to display the final score or a change over time of the final score in real time on a display.
