1. A method of managing a data pipeline, the method comprising:
making a determination that a misalignment of the data pipeline has occurred with respect to a piece of data within the data pipeline;
obtaining, in response to the determination, at least one error message selected from a list consisting of:
a first error message generated by an application programming interface (API) following receipt by the API of a request for the piece of data from a downstream consumer; and
a second error message obtained from the downstream consumer following an attempt by the API to provide the piece of data to the downstream consumer in response to receipt of the request by the API;
obtaining an error classification for the piece of data using the at least one error message and the piece of data, the error classification indicating a type of error that occurred to the piece of data that caused the misalignment of the data pipeline;
obtaining an action set for remediating the type of error; and
performing the action set to remediate the misalignment by at least building an API translation layer that is inserted into the API to obtain an updated API, the updated API being caused to use the API translation layer to transform the piece of data with the type of error into corrected data and to insert the corrected data into the data pipeline.
