1. A method, comprising:
receiving, at a multi-access edge computing device (MEC), a factory application defining an automated process;
identifying process modules associated with the factory application;
determining resources required by the process modules associated with the factory application;
assigning, based on the determining of the resources, the process modules to devices for execution within the automated process;
providing distributed orchestration information to the devices, wherein the distributed orchestration information includes a status of the process modules; and
controlling networked plant devices (NPDs) for middle latency conditions based upon the distributed orchestration information.
