1. A valve-actuating device for actuating a valve of a reciprocating piston engine, the valve-actuating device comprising:
a first finger follower and a second finger follower, wherein the first finger follower and the second finger follower are rotatably mounted about a common rotational axis at a first end of the first finger follower and at a first end of the second finger follower;
at least one pushrod connected to the first finger follower at a second end of the first finger follower that is opposite to the first end of the first finger follower so as to transmit an actuating movement of the first finger follower to the valve;
a first cam and a second cam, wherein the first cam and the second cam are arranged on a shaft, wherein a first surface positioned beneath the at least one pushrod at the second end of the first finger follower marks a contour of the first cam, wherein a second surface at a second end of the second finger follower that is opposite to the first end of the second finger follower marks a contour of the second cam,
wherein a coupling section at the second end of the first finger follower that is opposite to the first end of the first finger follower is connected to the second end of the second finger follower that is opposite to the first end of the second finger follower via a coupling apparatus, and
wherein the coupling apparatus has a locking element able to be brought into at least a first position and a second position and is configured to transmit an actuating movement of the second finger follower to the first finger follower at least in the first position of the locking element; and
a switching device having a slotted guide element, wherein the slotted guide element is designed to bring the locking element of the coupling apparatus at least from the first position to the second position and vice-versa.
