1. A process for recovery of lithium from a geothermal brine, the process comprising the steps of:
removing impurities comprising silica and iron from a geothermal brine comprising:
oxidizing the geothermal brine; and
raising the pH of the geothermal brine to a pH greater than 5 to co-precipitate silica and iron from the geothermal brine;
recovering lithium chloride from the geothermal brine to produce a lithium chloride-rich stream; and
concentrating the lithium chloride in the lithium chloride-rich stream.
