1. A method of operating an autonomous racetrack driver coach and demonstrator in an autonomous motor vehicle employing vehicle operating systems for propulsion and maneuvering, the method comprising:
identifying a road course and mapping, via a configurator arranged remotely from the vehicle, a velocity profile of the vehicle and a trajectory for the vehicle defining a path of the vehicle around the road course configured to minimize the vehicle's road course lap time;
determining a presence of a human passenger/operator situated in the vehicle;
determining, via an electronic controller in communication with a detection source arranged remotely from the vehicle, localization of the vehicle on the road course;
monitoring the localization and determining velocity, acceleration, and heading of the vehicle, via the electronic controller, relative to the mapped trajectory on the road course; and
operating the vehicle, with the human passenger/operator situated therein, via the electronic controller, to follow the mapped trajectory using feedback control of the vehicle operating systems in response to the determined localization, velocity, acceleration, and heading.
