1. A healthcare communication system for use in a healthcare facility having a plurality of patient rooms, the healthcare communication system comprising:
a plurality of beds, each bed being located in a respective patient room of the plurality of patient rooms,
a computer communicatively coupled to each of the plurality of beds, the computer being configured to receive bed status information sent by each of the plurality of beds,
a status board communicatively coupled with the computer and operable to display information regarding each of the following: room numbers of the respective patient rooms, at least some of the bed status information, and a bed alarm associated with at least one bed of the plurality of beds, and
a plurality of wireless communication badges, each wireless communication badge being transported by a respective healthcare worker, each wireless communication badge being configured for voice communications with other wireless communication badges, each wireless communication badge being configured to receive a text message pertaining to the bed alarm, and each wireless communication badge being configured to place a phone call to a telephone located outside of the healthcare facility.
