1. An electrode instrument for use in a resectoscope, the electrode instrument having an elongate shaft portion with two support arms through which a conductor extends that forms an electrode at a distal end of the electrode instrument that can be subjected to high-frequency current and is arranged between distal ends of the support arms wherein only one of the support arms has, at a distal end region, a tissue contact part for holding tissue fragments that is arranged on an outer wall of the one of the support arms that has the tissue contact part and is angled in relation to a longitudinal axis of the one of the support arms, the electrode being positioned closer to the distal end than the tissue contact part, wherein: the tissue contact part is configured to hold tissue fragments between the tissue contact part and one of a distal end of an inner tube and a distal end of a pass-through instrument of the resectoscope, a longitudinal axis of the tissue contact part forms an angle of 120° to 60° relative to the longitudinal axis of the one of the support arms, the tissue contact part is composed of an electrically insulating material, and starting from the one of the support arms, the tissue contact part extends from the one of the support arms in a partially circular shape.
