1. A method, in a wireless device, for operating in a wireless communications network, the method comprising:
performing a measurement on or demodulating and decoding information from at least one resource from a predetermined set of resources, during a period when receiver circuitry is intermittently activated to monitor and/or measure signals; and
deactivating receiver circuitry in response to a predetermined criterion for the at least one resource, based on the measurement or decoded information.
