1. A solid-state battery, comprising:
a first electrode;
a second electrode having a first side facing a first side of the first electrode and spaced from the first electrode, wherein the first electrode is a cathode, the second electrode is an anode; and
a solid electrolyte having a first portion and a second portion, wherein a concentration of metal ions associated with the first electrode and/or the second electrode in the second portion is made higher than in the first portion; and the solid electrolyte is at least partially disposed in a space between the first electrode and the second electrode for providing a path for the metal ions to move through, wherein the metal ions are kept differentially distributed along the path; and the solid electrolyte is defined with the first portion being in contact with at least the first electrode, and the second portion covering or being in contact with at least the second electrode,
wherein both the first portion and the second portion of the solid electrolyte contain a metal salt, and a concentration of metal ions in the second portion is at least three times of that in the first portion.
