1. A method for enrolling an energy-related device in a demand response program during checkout and generating an instant demand response rebate during the checkout, the method comprising:
receiving a purchase selection of a customer of an energy-related device at a front end device;
verifying, via a rebates engine, eligibility of the energy-related device and customer for a demand response rebate and a demand response enrollment, both the demand response rebate and demand response enrollment associated with a utility;
applying the demand response rebate to the energy-related device at the front end device during purchase of the energy-related device;
communicating, via the rebates engine, a confirmed order to an orders component;
communicating, via the orders component, the confirmed order of the energy-related device to an e-commerce engine and a demand response enrollment component;
generating, via a vendor and the e-commerce engine, an identification of the energy-related device;
initiating, via a customer communication component, an email communication campaign with the customer;
communicating the energy-related device's identification information to the rebates engine;
confirming, via the rebates engine, an installation and a communication between the energy saving device and the utility, wherein the confirming the installation and the communication comprises remotely determining, based at least in part on the energy-related device's identification information, whether the energy-related device is connected to a network and is operational;
communicating, via the rebates engine, confirmation of the installation and the communication to the demand response enrollment component; and
ending, via the customer communication component, the email communication campaign.
