11. A scanner for scanning a physical object to obtain data for making a 3D model of the physical object, comprising
a base for supporting the scanner on a surface;
a scanner head assembly to obtain scan data of the physical object;
a turntable comprising a scanning surface for mounting the physical object to be scanned;
a support arm comprising
a first end connected to the base,
a second end, opposite the first end, connected to the scanner head assembly, and
wherein the support arm is inclined from the base to the scanner head assembly;
a swing arm comprising
a first swing arm portion connecting the swing arm to the support arm between the first and second ends of the support arm,
a second swing arm portion that is perpendicular to the first swing arm portion, and
that is between the first swing arm portion and the turntable,
wherein the swing arm is pivotally connected to the support arm for movement of the swing arm and the turntable about a first axis.
