1. A photoelectric conversion apparatus comprising:
a photodiode configured to perform avalanche multiplication;
a transistor connected to the photodiode and having a gate receiving a control signal;
a logic circuit receiving a signal based on the control signal and a signal based on an output from the photodiode and outputting a signal according to a result of a logic operation on the signal based on the control signal and the signal based on the output from the photodiode; and
a counter connected to the logic circuit,
wherein the counter is configured to count a number of pulses of the signal output from the logic circuit, and
wherein the control signal is periodically input during a period from a reset of a count value of the counter to a next reset of the count value.
