1. A battery protection apparatus comprising:
a fuse element on a current path between a battery module and an external load to block the current path between the battery module and the external load;
a first switch connected to a node between the fuse element and the first switch, and configured to provide a diagnostic current to flow through the fuse element based on a voltage of the battery module; and
an ignition switch connected to the node, and configured to receive an operating voltage from the battery module or a capacitor charged by the battery module, to ignite the fuse element by increasing a voltage of the node,
wherein, when the operating voltage from the battery module stops, the ignition switch is configured to ignite the fuse element according to the operating voltage charged in the capacitor by the battery module.
