1. Tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media comprising program instructions executable by one or more processors such that a computing device is configured to perform functions comprising:
causing a graphical user interface to display an indication that a first playback device and a second playback device have been configured to play multi-channel audio content in a groupwise manner, wherein the multi-channel audio content comprises a first channel and a second channel, and wherein the first playback device and the second playback device are configurable to play the multi-channel audio content in (i) a grouped mode in which (a) the first playback device is configured to play the first channel and the second channel and (b) the second playback device is configured to coordinate with the first playback device to play the first channel and the second channel, or (ii) a stereo mode in which (a) the first playback device is configured to play the first channel but not the second channel and (b) the second playback device is configured to coordinate with the first playback device to play the second channel but not the first channel;
after receiving one or more commands to configure the first playback device and the second playback device into the stereo mode while the first playback device and the second playback device are in the grouped mode, transitioning the first playback device and the second playback device from the grouped mode to play the multi-channel audio content in the stereo mode; and
after receiving one or more commands to configure the first playback device and the second playback device into the grouped mode while the first playback device and the second playback device are in the stereo mode, transitioning the first playback device and the second playback device from the stereo mode to play the multi-channel audio content in the grouped mode.
