1. A method comprising:
receiving, into a multiplexer, a first set of neural signals via a plurality of inputs;
determining that a subset of the first set of neural signals is above a threshold;
identifying a group of the plurality of inputs corresponding to the subset of the first set of neural signals;
modifying operation of the multiplexer to block inputs not in the identified group of the plurality of inputs;
receiving, into the multiplexer, a second set of neural signals via the group of the plurality of inputs;
transmitting the second set of neural signals to a plurality of channels of an amplifier while blocking inputs not in the identified group of the plurality of inputs;
amplifying the second set of neural signals using the amplifier; and
transmitting the amplified second set of neural signals for further processing.
