1. A method, comprising:
generating, by a computer application that allows publishing, editing, modifying, organizing, and managing content, document objects in a computer network, the document objects comprising a first social document object, the first social document object being associated with other objects having a set of common properties and functions that enable social interactions among the first social document object and the other objects;
responsive to the first social document object being modified, generating, by the computer application, a message indicating that the first social document object has been modified; and
sending, by the computer application, the message from the first social document object to the other associated objects.
