1. A method comprising:
automatically selecting one of a plurality of power modes for a storage system based on a forecast of availability of renewable energy, where the power modes indicate settings for each of a plurality of hardware resources of the storage system; and
automatically adjusting power consumption of at least one hardware resource of the storage system as indicated by the selected power mode.
