1. A power system, comprising:
a current sensor;
an arc fault detection circuit coupled to the current sensor, wherein the arc fault detection circuit is configured to detect a presence of an arc based at least in part on the current sensor;
an AC (alternating current) power source capacitively coupled to the current sensor;
a controller configured to check a health of the arc fault detection circuit at least in part by:
controlling the AC power source to inject an AC signal to the current sensor;
receiving an output of the arc fault detection circuit; and
determining whether a circuit fault in the arc fault detection circuit is present based at least in part on an evaluation of the output of the arc fault detection circuit; and
wherein the arc fault detection circuit further comprises an isolation circuit between the arc fault detection circuit and the controller, wherein the isolation circuit is configured to transform a voltage of the output of the arc fault detection circuit.
