1. A method for fracturing a subterranean reservoir having low permeability and/or porosity, the method comprising:
providing a fracturing fluid comprising lignin and at least one isolated strain of bacteria capable of producing at least one biosurfactant, and/or at least one biosurfactant produced from at least one isolated strain of bacteria capable of producing a biosurfactant, the composition having a solids content of about 50% or above; and
injecting the fracturing fluid under high pressure into the subterranean reservoir having low permeability and/or porosity, thereby producing a fractured subterranean reservoir and increasing the flow of hydrocarbons from the fractured subterranean reservoir for recovery.
