1. A submersible filter device for filtration of water in a reservoir comprising:
an elongate housing (102) defining an interior volume, the elongate housing (102) including:
an intake aperture (104) extending through a bottom surface of the elongate housing (102) permitting ingress of water into the elongate housing (102);
a plurality of elongate slits (106) extending along the length of the elongate housing (102) permitting egress of water from the elongate housing (102);
a pump (110) disposed within a lower portion of the interior volume, the pump having an electric motor (110a) and an impeller (110b) arranged proximate to the intake aperture (104);
a filter arrangement (112) disposed within the interior volume above the pump (110);
a waterproof sub-housing (122) disposed within in the elongate housing (102) above the filter arrangement (112); and
at least one spacer (116) extending from the bottom surface of the elongate housing (102) for keeping the intake aperture (104) spaced from a bottom surface (120a) of the water reservoir (120), to permit water to be filtered to enter the intake aperture (104).
