1. A system, comprising:
a calling device; and
a carrier IP telephony network, comprising:
a called device; and
a network device, configured to:
receive a call from the calling device intended for the called device;
in response to the call being received, submit an enhanced information query as a modified electronic number mapping (ENUM) payload comprising the calling device number and the called device number;
route the call to a destination assigned to calls which exceed a spam score threshold based on preferences of the called device; and
provide information to the called device about the call's purpose or context, wherein the network device is configured to interact with the calling party or the called party to establish the purpose of the call.
