1. A method for synchronizing a wavelength of light in an optical device, the method comprising:
predicting, by a photonics controller, a heater voltage for a heater disposed adjacent to the optical device in a photonic chip;
applying, by the photonics controller, the predicted heater voltage to the heater to cause a change in the wavelength of the light inside the optical device;
measuring, by the photonics controller, an optical power inside the optical device in response to applying the heater voltage;
determining, by the photonics controller, whether the measured optical power is a peak optical power; and
continue applying the predicted heater voltage to the heater in response to determining that optical power is the peak optical power.
