1. A system, comprising:
one or more processors;
one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the performance of steps comprising:
displaying a graphical user interface on a display device, wherein the graphical user interface comprises a source region and an output region;
displaying a plurality of source artifacts in the source region;
displaying a selector, wherein the selector is configured to be moved within the source region responsive to user input while the source artifacts are at least temporarily stationary;
responsive to the user input, moving the selector to indicate a first selected set of the at least temporarily stationary source artifacts; and
displaying an output artifact in the output region;
wherein the output artifact comprises a first output attribute that represents a combination of source attributes from the source artifacts in the first selected set;
wherein an amount of contribution to the first output attribute by respective ones of the source artifacts in the first selected set is based on a coordinate of the selector relative to coordinates of the source artifacts in the first selected set; and
wherein the first output attribute is not based on attributes of a displayed artifact, if any, that moves with the selector.
