1. A powder alkaline cleaning composition comprising:
an alkali metal hydroxide alkalinity source;
from about 20 wt-% to 35 wt-% of an alkali metal carbonate alkalinity source;
a first polycarboxylic acid polymer or salt or derivative thereof comprising a phosphorus end group according to the formula:

wherein R1 is a phosphino (—PH(═O)(OH)) or phosphono (—P(═O)(OH)2) end group, wherein m is an integer of 0 or larger, and wherein n is an integer of 2 or larger;
a second polycarboxylic acid polymer or salt or derivative thereof without a phosphorus end group and comprising a polyacrylic acid polymer and having a molecular weight of between about 2,500 g/mol and about 5,000 g/mol; and
a processing aid comprising an organic solvent,
wherein the composition is a free-flowing powder that does not clump and wherein the composition does not contain surfactants.
