1. A bed adapted to be supported on a floor, comprising:
a plurality of wheels contacting the floor;
a lower frame supported by the plurality of wheels;
an upper frame movably coupled to the lower frame and comprising a first longitudinal member extending from a frame head end to a frame foot end and comprising a second longitudinal member extending from the frame head end to the frame foot end;
a support deck supported by the upper frame and having a head end, a foot end, a first side extending from the head end to the foot end, and a second side extending from the head end to the foot end, the support deck being expandable in a transverse extent from the first side to the second side from a first size to a second size, the second size having a larger area than the first size, the support deck comprising a head section, a seat section and a foot section that are articulatably coupled to the upper frame, the support deck comprising:
a central plate,
a first side plate slidably coupled to the central plate, the first side plate and the central plate being arranged in an overlapping arrangement,
a second side plate slidably coupled to the central plate, the second side plate and the central plate being arranged in an overlapping arrangement, and
wherein the central plate supports a central support and the first side plate having a top surface, the second side plate having a top surface and wherein the central support comprises a top surface that aligns horizontally with the respective top surfaces of the first and second side plates.
