1. A method comprising:
detecting, by a sensor of a client device corresponding to a user, sensor data based on one or more of acoustic signals, movement, or heart activity of the user;
by a computing device:
accessing the sensor data from the sensor of the client device corresponding to the user;
determining one or more segments of the sensor data;
selecting at least one segment of the one or more segments of the sensor data;
determining, based at least on the at least one selected segment of sensor data, one or more features corresponding to the user's pulmonary condition;
determining, based at least on the determined one or more features, a passive assessment of the user's pulmonary condition, wherein the passive assessment of the user's pulmonary condition comprises a determination of the user's pulmonary obstruction;
determining whether a number of passive assessments of the user's pulmonary obstruction, each passive assessment comprising a separate determination of the user's pulmonary obstruction, in a particular time period is less than a threshold number of passive assessments of the user's pulmonary obstruction; and
in response to a determination that the number of passive assessments of the user's pulmonary obstruction in the particular time period is less than the threshold number of passive assessments, submitting, to the client device, a request for the user to provide user data for an active assessment of the user's pulmonary condition.
