1. A method comprising:
receiving, at a first network component in a first Fifth Generation (5G) or Long-term Evolution (LTE) wireless network to which a User Equipment device (UE) is not subscribed, a first request, to authenticate the UE, from a core network component in the first 5G or LTE wireless network;
perform an authentication of the UE at the first network component; and
when the performed authentication of the UE is not successful,
sending a second request to authenticate the UE to a second network component in a second 5G or LTE wireless network to which the UE is subscribed;
receiving a response to the second request from the second network component, wherein the response indicates whether the UE is successfully authenticated at the second network component;
determining whether the UE is successfully authenticated at the second network component based on the response; and
sending a first reply to the core network component, wherein the first reply indicates whether the UE is successfully authenticated.
