1. An electronic device comprising:
a functional component for performing at least one function of the electronic device;
a first power source adapted to be coupled to the functional component to power the at least one function of the electronic device; and
a benefit denial element comprising:
a communication element for communicating with a second electronic device to receive a command and information indicative of whether the second electronic device has access to second unlocking information;
a memory adapted to store computer-readable instructions;
a processor configured to execute the computer-readable instructions, wherein execution of the computer-readable instructions by the processor, configures the benefit denial element to:
determine first unlocking information of the benefit denial element, and
selectively disable or enable the at least one function of the electronic device in accordance with a received command upon determining that the second electronic device has access to the second unlocking information and that the second unlocking information corresponds to the first unlocking information; and
a system on a chip (SoC), wherein the SoC comprises the functional component, the benefit denial element, and an interface between the functional component and the benefit denial element.
