Cathode for metal-air current sources, comprising a base made of a porous carbon material that is permeable for molecular oxygen, on whose working surface there is applied a copolymer, obtained by polymerization of a monomer complex of a complex compound of a transition metal with a Schiff base and a monomer from the thiophene group selected from the group thiophene, 3-alkylthiophen, 3,4-dialkylthiophene, 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene or a combination thereof.
