1. A networked computer system, comprising:
a near field communication (NFC) reader coupled to a gaming device and configured to receive NFC signals from an NFC component associated with a user; and
a player tracking server computer coupled in communication with the NFC reader, the player tracking server computer including a processor programmed to execute an algorithm including:
receiving an NFC signal from the NFC component via the NFC reader, the received NFC signal including a user ID;
accessing a plurality of user account records and selecting a matching user account record having a corresponding user ID matching the received user ID;
retrieving account information included in the matching user account record; and
displaying the account information on the gaming device.
