1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
determining, by a payment device, a biometric identifier of a user, via a biometric sensor of the payment device, in response to a near field communication (NFC) interrogation signal from a point of sale (POS) device to activate the payment device;
authenticating, by the payment device, the biometric identifier by matching the biometric identifier to another biometric identifier stored in the payment device;
transmitting, by the payment device, a transaction account to the POS device, via an antenna of the payment device; and
processing, by the payment device, a payment transaction based at least in part on the authenticating and the transaction account.
