1. A system comprising:
a plurality of bare metal servers each executing a virtual customer edge router, a plurality of host virtual machines, and a hypervisor; and
a plurality of leaf nodes, each having a physical connection to one or more of the plurality of bare metal servers and connected to the virtual customer edge router of each bare metal server of the plurality of bare metal servers by layer-3 router links;
wherein the virtual customer edge router of each bare metal server of the plurality of bare metal servers is configured to terminate layer-2 routes of the plurality of host virtual machines of the each bare metal server;
wherein each virtual customer edge router of each bare metal server of the plurality of bare metal servers is configured with a same anycast gateway internet protocol (IP) address and medium access code (MAC) address.
