1. A wearable device comprising a light source configured to transmit source light to a reflective polarizer, wherein:
the reflective polarizer is configured to reflect the source light to a reflective display of a wearable device via a quarter-wave plate;
the wearable device comprises a beam splitter and a field lens;
the quarter-wave plate is configured to, in response to receiving the source light, transmit image light to the field lens and further to the reflective polarizer;
the beam splitter is configured to receive the image light via the field lens, and is further configured to present an image comprising the image light to a user of the wearable device.
