1. A method for wireless communications, comprising:
determining that a prospective position of a user equipment (UE) device is in a geographic area associated with at least one of an unavailable synchronization source signal or a deficient synchronization source signal;
transmitting a sidelink synchronization signal to at least one other UE device that is located within the geographic area associated with at least one of the unavailable synchronization source signal or the deficient synchronization source signal; and
discontinuing transmission of the sidelink synchronization signal in response to determining that the at least one other UE device has exited the geographic area.
